Adriane Ao Bio

Early Beginnings

Adriane Owens, known as Adriane AO, is an American-born recording artist with a voice that commands attention. Born in Seattle, Washington, to an African American father and a Pacific Islander mother, Adriane grew up in a household filled with music. From the age of three, her talent was undeniable—belting out R&B and gospel tunes throughout the home. Recognizing her gift, her parents enlisted a vocal coach, though a professional music career was never the initial goal—Adriane simply loved to sing. As she grew, her passion extended beyond music. Adriane was a natural performer, excelling in dance and athletics. Between the ages of 12 and 14, she became a nationally ranked hurdler and helped lead her AAU basketball team to a national championship. Somehow, amidst sports and school, she also carved out a successful modeling career, walking the runway for Tommy Hilfiger and working with brands like Nike and Nordstrom.

Return & Reinvention

Back in Seattle, Adriane refocused on school, sports, and modeling. The break was necessary, but the music world never sleeps. When word spread that she was no longer under contract, industry giants came knocking again. Adriane was soon invited to meet legendary producers Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis in their Santa Monica studio. What was supposed to be a brief introduction turned into an hours-long conversation. Their advice was simple but powerful: Only make music that will stand the test of time. With newfound creative freedom, Adriane began collaborating with Grammy-winning producers such as Yeti Beats (known for his work with Doja Cat), Brian Kennedy (producer of her single Sincere), Ernest D. Miles II (Take My Love Away), and AYO The Producer (New Year New Money). These songs would later form the foundation of her upcoming album, Out of the Dark.

Breakthrough & Hard Choices

Still in her teens, fate stepped in when a chance encounter at a well-known hair salon connected her with an A&R rep. Within weeks, Adriane was on a plane to Atlanta—the heart of the music industry—where she was introduced to Anthony “TA” Tate, the executive who helped launch the careers of Ciara and J. Holiday. It wasn’t long before she signed a deal with Music Line Group/Capitol Records and found herself recording at Red Zone Studios, the birthplace of hits for Britney Spears, Beyoncé, and The-Dream. At just 15, Adriane was juggling a world that many only dream of—long hours in the studio, late-night writing sessions, and industry meetings that shaped her future. But despite the excitement, she and her family recognized that the industry’s demands could be overwhelming for a young artist. After careful consideration, they made the difficult decision to walk away, believing that if it was truly meant to be, the opportunity would return.

Darkness To Light

But just as momentum was building, life took an unexpected turn. While recording in Los Angeles, those closest to Adriane began to notice a shift. Friends and industry professionals described her as different—withdrawn at times, distant, and not quite herself. Concerned, her father, Daryl Owens, who had always been instrumental in her career, stepped in. Recognizing that something was amiss, he brought her back home to Seattle, where she took a step back from the industry. The music went silent. The spotlight dimmed. Adriane had entered a period of darkness—one that she does not fully speak of yet, but one that changed her. Time passed, and with the unwavering support of her father, her family, and her faith, Adriane slowly found her way back. She never let go of her passion, even when the music had to wait. And when the time was right, when the darkness began to lift, she picked up the mic once more. Now, after years of growth, reflection, and resilience, Adriane AO is stepping back into the light. Her debut album, Out of the Dark, set for release in 2025, is more than just a collection of songs—it’s a story of perseverance, a journey of rediscovery, and a testament to her undeniable talent.

Follow her journey. The best is yet to come.
